On Monday, March 17th, 2008, the St. James Prayer Shawl Ministry began. There were 29 ladies who came to participate, some at 10:30 am, others at 6:30 pm. Most knew how to knit or crochet but some came to learn how. We have ladies who have taught these 'brave ones' to forge ahead. It is not too late to join us. We have the policy of "No knitter or crotchetier left behind."

On Sunday, April 27th, 2008, we had 16 prayer shawls and 14 tiny caps for premature babies blessed. This was accomplished in the 41 days since our beginning on March 17. What a blessing! We have fulfilled 4 requests for a shawl. if any one has a request for a loved one, please contact Peggy Fulcher (215-5990). There is no charge for a shawl. These are made by the loving hands of the participants.

If you want, you may make a contribution to the St. James Prayer Shawl Ministry by check or cash. It can be placed in the collevtion plate on Sunday or given to Marianne Leventry. We do have contributions already and some have been used to purchase yarn. It costs about $15 for the yarn for one shawl. Please keep this ministry in your prayers.
